Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys®: Harley Davidson Helps Wounded Vets Move Forward in Life

Harley-Davidson has long been known for their charitable work throughout the motorcycling community and this is just one more example of how they continue to give back. For the fourth straight year, Harley-Davidson and the Harley’s Heroes program are helping wounded veterans move forward in life.
Through DAV (Disabled American Veterans), Harley’s Heros brings DAV mobile services to Harley Davidson dealerships across the country most days of the year. These services assist wounded veterans and other veterans understand and apply for the various benefits that are available to them. These benefits include:

  • Medical Treatment
  • Disability Compensation
  • Insurance
  • Home Loans
  • Continuing Education
  • Training
  • And More

Last year along, Harley’s Heroes helped veterans claim tens of millions of dollars in benefits that they earned. Through inspiring veterans’ stories, they are hoping to show other veterans how the DAV can positively impact their lives and help them move forward with their lives. Since 2007, Harley-Davidson has provided $2 million in grants to help this program succeed.
The DAV visits over 800 United States locations a year and helps more than 18,000 veterans obtain money and benefits to which they are entitled. They seek to empower veterans to live a fuller life by obtaining housing, medical treatment, and insurance benefits. Why do they do this? More than one-third of Harley-Davidson customers are veterans of the armed forces. In addition, Harley-Davidson employs veterans on a regular basis and has been supporting our troops for almost 100 years.
