Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys®: The tragedy that unfolded last week in Connecticut has affected everyone across the country–and even around the world. We have all been moved by the images of the victims, horrified by the accounts, and left devastated by the senselessness of it all. The school shooting in Newtown that left 26 people dead, 20 of which were children, has consumed the minds and hearts of the nation—and moved one man to show his support by hitting the road on his motorcycle.
Motorcyclist Doug Smith from Warner Robins, Georgia felt the need to do something in the wake of the horrific tragedy. He called social services in the Newtown community and asked where he could bring a donation. Then he decided to ride his Harley Davidson, the seventeen to twenty two hours, to deliver support in person. Why? He wants the families and Sandy Hook Elementary School community to know that Central Georgians are grieving for them and thinking of them at this difficult time.
Smith has collected donations and plans to deliver them in person to a bank in Newtown that has set up a fund for the families whose children were killed last week by the gunman. He has risen close to $1,000 and hopes that other motorcyclists will join him along the route.  He planned to leave today for his emotional journey.
If you would like to donate to the victims’ families of the Sandy Hook School shooting, then you can donate to the fund directly at the Newton Savings Bank: 39 Main Street Newtown, CT 06470 or donate online at the Sandy Hook Family Fund.
Here at Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys®, we have been deeply affected by the horrific events that unfolded last Friday in Newtown, Connecticut. Our hearts go out to the families in this dark time.
