Rolling Thunder® Inc. XXVI  Annual Ride for Freedom 2013 – Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys®.

The Rolling Thunder® Inc “Ride for Freedom” is an annual motorcycle demonstration that aims to raise awareness for the many military men and women who gave their lives for the freedom of all Americans. The demonstration/ride is designed to get action from our government to ensure everything is being done to get all Prisoners of War and those Missing in Action to come home and to make sure we take care of our veterans when they do come home. Each year, thousands of veterans, motorcycle clubs, veteran organizations and general public ride in hopes that their presence in Washington DC reminds our government, the media, and the public of the soldiers who have been left behind. They vow to continue to fight and ride until all of these soldiers are found and returned home. Their watchwords: “We Will Not Forget”.

This year, the Rolling Thunder® Inc“Ride for Freedom” will be held May 26, 2013 in Washington D.C. and veterans, motorcyclists, current military, motorcycle clubs and the general public are urged to attend. In fact, you do not have to be a Rolling Thunder® member to attend and ride this year; you simply have to be a passionate motorcyclist who supports our troops – past, current and future.  This year we are riding for Bowe Bergdahl who is America’s only known living Prisoner of War in Afghanistan.
Riding for Bowe

Bowe Bergdahl POW

Bowe Bergdahl joined the Army at the age of 21 and was assigned to a Combat Team in Afghanistan. He was captured by the Taliban in 2009 and has been held at an unknown location ever since. The Taliban intends to hold him in the hopes of having Taliban prisoners in America released. He has already served over 930 days in captivity and the Taliban continues to release videos of him. The most recent was in May 2011 that showed he was alive but beaten.
Stories like Bowe’s are what keep the Rolling Thunder® members riding. Thanks to their support and efforts, Jessica Lynch and six other POWs from the Iraq War came home alive. They continue to help enact legislation, raise money for veterans and charities, and increase awareness of the many men and women who are Missing In Action. Their vow is that they will continue to ride until “ALL POW/MIAs ARE ACCOUNTED FOR”, and since their first ride in 1988, they have grown to an estimated 900,000 riders every year.
