This is my third year coming to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and the first year I am staying in an RV at the Legendary Buffalo Chip. I am having an incredible time.
The Buffalo Chip campsite is a plethora of motorcyclists from all over the world that come together for ten days of fun and great motorcycle rides. What I love about wandering around the campsite is seeing how creative some people are in setting up their camp area. Some campsites have blow up swimming pools, dance poles, flags from all over the globe, lit up palm trees, etc etc. The Buffalo Chip campers go as far as decorating their golf carts up with beads, skulls and even outfit them to have flames coming off the top.
Day four of my stay here culminated in the performances by Buckcherry and Def Leppard. What a concert! I was with BAM girls Roz and Lynnelle – BAM, Free Breakdown and Legal Assistance for Motorcyclists, and a good time was had by all. The place was packed. And as I have said in the past, bikers are some of the nicest people and to have thousands upon thousands of people at a concert and have no shoving or pushing is another testament to the type of people the Chip attracts. Tonight Toby Keith performs and I have heard that it is sold out. Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys® are hosting a VIP party in the Top Shelf Suite so I am in for another night of great people and great performances.
Roz, Lynnelle and I will be staying put at the Buffalo Chip today. On the agenda is the machine gun range where I will attempt to shoot an AK 47 and the zipline, the longest Zipline in South Dakota. I will be launched off of a tower 70-feet above the floor of the Buffalo Chip Amphitheater. The zip-line then zooms through the air at speeds of up to 30 mph and runs for 850 feet. I will attempt to video tape the adventure to post online.
I now understand why people keep coming back to the Buffalo Chip year after year. It is an amazing time and an incredible adventure that keeps getting better. Congrats to the Buffalo Chip and 30 Years Strong.
