The Sturgis Buffalo Chip Campground and the Sturgis Rally experience just keeps getting better and better. And this year is no exception. The newest addition to the Sturgis Buffalo Chip is sure to enhance your rally experience. Located three miles outside of Sturgis, SD and away from all the traffic on Lazelle St, the Crossroads will provide visitors a Free access area at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip where rally attendees, not staying at the legendary Campground, will be able to visit friends, check out vendors, and enjoy food, drinks, and music at the new Sturgis Rider Cafe, an open air pavilion and the center piece at the Crossroads. Until now, visitors who wished to visit their friends who were staying at the Buffalo Chip Campground had to pay to enter the Campground site. Now, they will be able to visit their friends, enjoy some great food, drinks, and incredible music all FREE of charge.
While the Crossroads has been planned for years, this is the year Sturgis Rally motorcyclists will actually get to experience this amazing, free entertainment area. If you are heading to the 2012 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally this year, then you’ll get to see the Crossroads firsthand. The Crossroads gives motorcyclists who are attending the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and the general public an opportunity to look at why the Sturgis Buffalo Chip Campground is legendary, including custom bikes, shops, vendors, and live music.
Even if you don’t plan on staying at the Buffalo Chip Campground, the Crossroads will enable you to experience more of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and meet up with friends and family members who are staying there. Best of all, since it is located 3 miles outside of Sturgis, SD, you can also escape some of the traffic that is always present inside of the city limits.
I personally love staying at the Legendary Buffalo Chip. From the time I get my morning coffee in the amphitheater at the Coffee Crib (great coffee and great people), to enjoying the afternoon entertainment right through to the great concert line-up at night. It’s all there and I will be there in August 2012!
