Los Angeles, California: River Road Dame jacket ~Old Skool vintage gets better with age.
The River Road Dame jacket is sure to become a ladies favorite with its retro flair and vintage finish. This style offers a broken in feel right from the get go and is sure to get even better with age.
Distributed by industry leader Tucker Rocky, River Road has long been known for their high standards and quality functional products for both men and women motorcyclists. Offering the staples of motorcycle apparel, River Road has a stylish classic clean approach evident through all of their collection and the Dame is no exception.
I’ve long been a fan of classic vintage styling and this style combine that with a durable soft and supple leather, giving this mid weight jacket the feel of putting on a pair of broken in jeans. Well crafted in quality and subtle in design, sure to please both women riding their own bikes and women riding as passengers.
Getting to the fit, feeling and features I find the sizing seems to be of a generous cut, allowing you to comfortably wear layers underneath without feeling hindered and restricted. I tend to be right in between sizes often and would recommend sizing down with this styles liberal sizing.
The mandarin collar is stylish offering no bulking of the collar and the annoying “hit” of the leather hitting the back of your helmet, found in some other stiff collar styles.
The design lines are flattering and certainly made for the fairer sex rider, offering no worries of the “square potato sack” mid section. The length in both the sleeves and the torso are well planned out. Sitting on your bike, you should be just fine when you reach for the bars and not be concerned with the “wrist flood water” effect. Another plus is the accommodating comfort of the jackets design, so you don’t have to spend hours breaking in the jacket and when you reach for your bars you don’t feel like your fighting the leather just to ride. Ugh, that is something I really despise.
For those that require armor, this style would not be for you.
The Dame does not have armor, yet it doesn’t have the restrictive stiffness that can be found in some that do. A comfortable, well made removable insulated, fully sleeved warm liner can easily zip out for warmer weather. It has a built in pocket that fits a cell phone quite nicely and is well placed for easy access. Both on the front and rear are 2 zippered vents, as well as addition vents offered on the sleeves. The exterior front has two on seam zippered pockets, good size with sturdy zippers. Included is a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty. Sizing ranges from small to 2XL and this retails in the ballpark of $249.95.
